- Here's an example of a wiki as an online textbook.
- Here's an example of a wiki as a student collaborative writing project.
We'll use a wiki in a similar way. Form workgroups and collaborate on writing about supported text. The result will be a wiki with definitions and examples of supported text written by YOU.
You'll need to create an account at Wikispaces.com to get started. Once your account is set up, then go to the Supported Text Wiki and join.

I am so excited about learning how to use wikis and blogs - etc. I am anxious to bring back this wealth of information and share it with my colleagues and perhaps use it for our State Consortium and of course, my school district.
I can't wait to share this information with people in my district, but I would like to have written directions on how to sign up and use it. I've been following along and not taking many notes.
It was great to learn about wikispace and to think about all of the possibilities for using it with teachers. Creating the wikitext itself was difficult without knowing more about embedding links in the programs provided.
I started using wikis a few months ago and I've found a lot of uses for them. I have both work related ones and personal ones and I've introduced many of my friends to them as well. Our AT team uses it to communicate and share resources. It's also a great place to keep meeting notes and other commonly used documents. I've been using PBwiki, but I did like using wikispaces also.
I would like to know how to set up my own Wiki and how to activate a user to make entries to the Wiki. I have some reservations about allowing a student to edit what is already on the Wikki because it may result in a low quality Wikki.
